About Me

I'm originally from the North East coast of England, but since attending university in London I've not yet returned back north.

16 years on, I continue to live "down south" in West London/Surrey borders with my partner and two young children.

I'm relatively new to sharing my writing and I only opened my @new_stanza Instagram account in October 2020.

My children started reception and nursery in September 2020 which provided me with some free time to get creative. This new time for myself, along with the reflective space a pandemic puts you in got me wanting to write more. I found the writing community and started sharing my work online. It's been a welcome new space fo me and the support from the online poetry and writing community has been extremely encouraging.

I like to write so I can capture memories as well as process my emotions. Naturally a great creative outlet, but also very therapeutic to write about the ups and downs of life. 

I enjoy writing pieces that are hopefully relatable, with the secondary goal of offering the reader a safe space to talk and discuss their experiences, whilst normalising stigmatised topics in the process.
